Mackenzie Logan, Trinity University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 3)

MACKENZIE LOGAN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a fifth-year senior outside hitter from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 9 through Sunday, September 15. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 3)

Logan led the 11th-ranked Tiger volleyball team to a 2-1 record at the Trinity National Invitational last weekend, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Logan piled up incredible numbers for Trinity in the three matches this weekend, totaling 60 kills (4.62 per set) and a hitting percentage of .348 among 13 sets played. She started the tournament with a career-high 24 kills and a .568 hitting percentage in a narrow 3-2 loss to Endicott. Logan then posted a double-double with 20 kills and a career-high 13 digs in a 3-2 win over Eastern. She also had a career-best three service aces in the win over Eastern.

Overall, Logan is averaging 3.95 kills per set and has a hitting percentage of .271 after three weeks of the 2024 season.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outside hitter Carolyn Dormady of Colorado College posted a career-high 24 kills against UW-Eau Claire and led the Tigers with 13 kills vs. Marian. She hit a season-high .524 percentage against Marian. For the weekend, she averaged 4.00 kills per set and hit .291. Senior outside hitter Brylie Nedd of Texas Lutheran put the Bulldogs offense on her back in the 2024 Bishop Invitational - recording double-doubles in three out of four matches and leading TLU in kills across all four matches. Nedd etched her name into the TLU volleyball record book with 78 total attacks against Wisconsin-Platteville, the fifth-most in a single-match in program history and the most since the Bulldogs joined the SCAC. Nedd averaged 3.63 kills per set on the weekend. First-year outside hitter Brooklynne Fitzgerald of Concordia (Texas), in the first match of a doubleheader with Howard Payne, helped lead the Tornados to a 3-1 victory. She posted game-highs of 21.5 points, 17 kills (4.25 per set) and two aces. She also added a career-high four blocks to go along with 16 digs for her third straight double-double on the season. Senior right side TJ Folse of Austin College had a huge weekend, leading the 'Roos to a 3-1 mark while totaling 50 kills and averaging 3.33 kills-per-set with a .272 hitting percentage. She also came up big defensively, averaging 4.53 digs-per-set and 0.73 blocks-per-set, and added five assists and four service aces. Folse had a high of 20 kills in a five-set match with Millsaps, where she also tallied 27 digs. For the weekend, she averaged 4.0 points-per-set. Sophomore outside hitter Jennika Willis of McMurry had 32 kills (2.46 per set) and hit .305 as the War Hawks split their four matches over the weekend. She also chipped in defensively with nine blocks (0.69 per set) and eight digs. Junior middle hitter Ryleigh Jones of Schreiner had seven kills and hit .545 in the Mountaineer's match on Friday against Our Lady of the Lake. She also added seven digs and four blocks. Junior middle blocker Lily McWhorter of Southwestern averaged 1.77 kills per set in three games played this weekend. She hit at .340 over fifty attempts with just six errors. McWhorter also totaled fourteen blocks against opponents, with her best game coming against UMHB where she had seven total block, one block solo and six assists.
