JESSICA MASON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Westminster, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, October 13 through Tuesday, October 15. It is the second conscutive week she has earned the honor. SCAC Golf Release (Week 5)
Mason catapulted herself 25 spots up the individual leaderboard at the Golfweek October Classic on Tuesday, following her final-round score of 68 (-4) that was not only a career-low, but was also tied for the lowest round of the tournament. Mason also tied the school record for the lowest single round score to par at minus-four.
Starting on the back nine of the course, she birdied the second hole and played minus-one for the back nine. After the turn, Mason caught fire with five birdies among the first seven holes to wrap up the tournament in style. Mason shot 220 (73-79-68) over the three-day event to finish tied for seventh in the 124 player field. Her performance led the 16th-ranked Trinity women's golf team to a tie for 15th place.
