ELODIE RICHARD OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Allen, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 1 to Sunday, February 7.
Richard was undefeated in singles play last weekend, leading Trinity’s women’s tennis team to a 2-1 record on the road. Richard earned victories at lines three and line six against McMurry (6-1, 6-2) and Hardin-Simmons (6-1, 6-1), including the clinching point against McMurry on Saturday. She finished her weekend by earning a straight-set win at No. 6 singles against D-II Angelo State University (6-4, 6-1), which wound up being the only Tiger point of the match.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Esther Bowers of Southwestern picked up a victory at the No. 1 singles line last weekend to help like the Pirates to a victory over conference foe St. Thomas. Bowers earned a straight set victory, winning 7-6, 6-3.
