ZOE KAFFEN AND MARY KAFFEN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been selected as the SCAC Women’s Doubles Team of the Week for matched played from Monday, March 15 to Sunday, March 21.
The Kaffen sisters, seniors from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., led the Tiger women's tennis team to a pair of road wins over the weekend, defeating East Texas Baptist 9-0, and edging the University of Texas-Dallas 5-4. The twin sisters notched the first point of the shutout win over ETBU, then saved Trinity from being swept in doubles by winning at line two doubles against UTD. They have won four straight doubles matches and stand 6-4 this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Nina Mitrofanova and Taylor Despriet of Southwestern defeated Colorado College's Olivia Dicks and Magdalene Gonzales, 8-3, in No. 1 doubles play this past week.
