JOSEPHINE MCCRAY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Fairway, Kan., has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, September 12th through Sunday, September 18th. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 3)
McCray had a strong performance last weekend on the back line as Trinity recorded a pair of wins, defeating Hardin-Simmons, 2-1, on Friday and shutting out UT-Dallas, 2-0, on Sunday. She even jumped in the offensive side of the ball, assisting on the second goal of the HSU match. McCray played 132 minutes on the weekend and helped limit both teams to just 18 combined shots.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First year goalkeeper Sophia Escontrias of St. Thomas posted a 1-1 record in net for the Celts, highlighted by 11 saves against Concordia and three saves in a 2-1 win over Centenary.
