DEANNA HAMES OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior midfielder from Murrieta, Calif., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 7 through Sunday, March 13. (Women's Lacrosse Weekly Release - Week 4)
Hames scored four goals and had one assist for five points in a hard fought win over Ohio Northern. And on Saturday, she was the game's high-scoreer with five goals and an assist against Northwestern-St. Paul. Hames finished the week with nine goals and two assists for 11 points, and is currently second in the SCAC behind her teammate Raven Garcia, averaging 4.00 points per game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year attacker Tobin Lonergan of Colorado College scored seven goals and added four assists while helping Colorado College win three home games last week. Lonergan scored a pair of goals as the Tigers overcame an early three-goal deficit to RPI, 11-8, in their first game. Two days later in the 15-8 win over RIT, Lonergan scored twice and set up three goals. She finished the week with three goals and an assist in the 17-10 victory over Baldwin Wallace University.
