Smith had a dominant performance in the Eagles' 64-54 win against Principia on Saturday, scoring 19 points while pulling down 19 rebounds to post her second straight double-double of the season. The senior, who recorded 15 defensive rebounds in the game, is currently averaging 18.7 points (third in the SCAC) and 14.7 rebounds (second in the SCAC) in Ozarks' first three contests.
First-year guard Nevaeh Rivera of Centenary scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Ladies' 81-74 win at LeTourneau on Thursday night as she was 8-for-16 from the floor and 5-of-8 from the free throw line in 35 minutes of action. The rookie added four steals and three assists to lead Centenary to it's first win of the season. Graduate forward Alyssa Sullivan of Dallas scored a team-high 21 points and connected on 63.6 percent (7-for-11) of her attempts from the floor as the Crusaders dropped a 91-81 decision at Hendrix. Sullivan also pulled down 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Isa Nelson of Colorado College led the Tigers to a 2-0 start to the 2024-25 season, which included a career-high 19 points and four three-pointers, also a career-high, against North Central College on Saturday. For the weekend, Nelson averaged 13.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds. Junior forward Brooklyn Matthews of Austin College got her junior campaign off to a strong start, averaging 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks-per-game while shooting 66.7% from the field as the 'Roos went 1-1. Junior guard Lauren Sansano of Texas Lutheran followed up a 14-point, 6-rebound, 4-assist performance against Incarnate Word with 13 points and five assists against LeTourneau as the Bulldogs pulled out the 86-61 road victory. Sophomore guard Joerdan Thomas of St. Thomas made an immediate impact off the bench this week, averaging 9.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc. In just 17.5 minutes per game, she totaled 19 points, 12 rebounds, and five steals across two games. Junior guard Tamia Moody of Schreiner averaged 10.5 points, 3.0 steals, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in two road games for the Mountaineers over the weekend.
