Greenwood, Ind. -- Isabelle Aragon-Menzel, who graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in sociology, capped her Colorado College career by earning second-team Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Aragon-Menzel is one of only 21 Division III volleyball players to receive collegiate athletics' most prestigious academic award.

The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's co-Woman of the Year also became just the 25th Tiger and third volleyball player and to receive the ultra-competitive honor. CC's most recent recipient was Max Grossenbacher in 2015, while the last volleyball player to score the honor was Meryn Grant in 2006.

Aragon-Menzel, who compiled a 3.95 grade-point average, was named this year's SCAC Elite 19 Award winner for posting the highest GPA among players who earned all-conference volleyball honors. She also earned her fourth consecutive appearance on the conference's Academic Honor Roll.

On the court, Colorado College's senior setter led the volleyball team to the program's first undefeated season with a 17-0 record, the SCAC regular season and tournament titles, and the No. 1 ranking in the final AVCA Division III Coaches Poll.

Aragon-Menzel's volleyball honors include being named the league's inaugural Setter of the Year, a first-team all-conference selection, and MVP of the SCAC tournament after leading CC to a come-from-behind victory over second-ranked Trinity University in the championship match.

During her career, the two-time team captain helped lead the Tigers to a combined 114-10 record, three conference championships and four appearances in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.

Aragon-Menzel finished her career ranked No. 13 in program history with 1,404 assists.

Off the court, she was a member of the college's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and served as chair in 2020-21. Aragon-Menzel also was one of CC's two conference representatives, served as chair of the Ice Cream Social and Show of Talents Committees, and was a co-leader of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

On campus, Aragon-Menzel served on the CC Sustainability Committee, which addresses sustainability and environmental justice issues, was a four-year Peer Tutor at the college's Ruth Barton Writing Center and a teaching assistant in the sociology department.

In the Colorado Springs community, she volunteered as a Gifted and Talented Tutor at North Middle School and as an English as Second Language Tutor at Palmer High School. Aragon-Menzel also volunteered with TESSA, a local organization that supports survivors of domestic violence.
