HANNAH WADDELL OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore from Shreveport, La., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 13. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 1)
Waddell capped an impressive opening weekend for the Ladies in a pair of home meets against McMurry as she claimed six individual wins. She won the 400-yard IM (5:04.78), the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.93), and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.68) on Saturday. On Friday, Waddell won the 500-yard freestyle (5:49.82), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.32), and the 200-yard IM (2:21.55).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Maddy Rohrer of McMurry won two individual events for the War Hawks, the 50 free (25.98) and 100 free (56.94), and was on all four first place McMurry relays in the team's dual meets with Centenary over the weekend. Despite having only been in the pool for a month following shoulder surgery last spring, Rohrer's times are currently ahead of where she was at this point last season. Senior Faith Coffin of University of the Ozarks took first place finishes in the 200 free (2:10.61), 50 free (27.82), and 100 free (1:00.84) in the weekend dual against Austin College - helping lead the Eagles to the team win. She also anchored the 200 freestyle relay to a first place finish.
