ISABEL OLSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Middlebury, Vt., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 4)
Olson was phenomenal leading Colorado College to statement team victory against 12 nationally ranked teams at the John McNichols Invite last Saturday. Featuring five teams in the current top 10 of the national rankings, Olson finished second individually to pace the Tigers to the team title. She crossed the line of the 6K course in a time of 21:35.6, a personal best of nearly two minutes.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Chloe Weathers of University of the Ozarks battled hot temperatures to finish 54th out of 181 competitors at the Missouri Stampede last Friday to lead the Eagles. Facing competitors across all divisions, Weathers crossed the line of the 5K course in 20:28.8. Junior Emma Etzler of Texas Lutheran University once again led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing sixth overall at the OLLU Saint's Classic against non-Division III competition. Her time of 24:23.6 is a 20-second personal best and now puts her in the top 15 in program history.
