ELLIOT SINGER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman from San Francisco, Calif., been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Tuesday, September 7 through Sunday, September 12. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 2)
Singer paced the Tigers’ women’s squad in her first collegiate race last weekend, leading CC to a third-place team finish. Amongst a field of mostly Division II runners, Singer placed fourth individually at the Ted Castaneda Classic, crossing the line of the 6k course in 22:40.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Anna Wilgenbusch of Dallas won the 2021 UD Cross Country Invitational with a time of 20:04 traversing through a very hilly and technical course. It marked the 10th meet victory in her outstanding career. Freshman Jocelyn Olivarez of St. Thomas was the top finisher for the Celts last weekend at Nory Hersey Rice Invitational. Olivarez crossed the line of the 4k course in a time of 15:08, good enough for 34th-place.
