ARDEN NEFF OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a first-year from San Angelo, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 4 through Sunday, April 10. (SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 6)
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Kendall Accetta of Colorado College placed fifth in the 5k at the Wichita State KT Woodman Classic with a time of 17:25.12. Her time is the fastest in the conference this season and currently ranks 22nd on the national list. Senior Anna Wilgenbusch of Dallas dominated the field at the Texas A&M-Commerce meet, crushing her own school record in the 10,000 meters by over a minute with a time of 38:04.20. She is now ranked 27th in the nation and first in SCAC. Sophomore Madi Habeck of Trinity set a new personal best in the 800 at the UIW Invitational with a time of 2:19.76, which was good enough for third place at the meet and second overall at the conference. She also doubled back in the 1500 and placed 14th with a 4:59.94. First-year Ny'Cierra Hinton of St. Thomas placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 12.36, just .19 seconds behind first place. This was the highest finish of all Division 3 competitors, and tabbed the fastest time in the SCAC.
