KATHERINE MONTGOMERY OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Dripping Springs, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition from Wednesday, March 23 through Tuesday, March 29. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 6)
Montgomery was the model of consistency for the Pirates, firing rounds of 84 and 85 to finish at 169 (+25), good for a tie for seventh, at the Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia (Texas) at the Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin. Her performance helped lead Southwestern to a second-place team finish behind the host school.
Sophomore Trinity Le of St.Thomas had the first round lead after firing a 77 at the Linda Lowery Invitational, but a Day Two 92 dropped the sophomore to a seventh-place finish at 169 (+25).Montgomery had seven pars and a birdie on her card on Monday to post the team’s low round.
