Southwestern's Sharma Earns SCAC Men's Soccer Elite 19 Honor

HOUSTON, Texas -- In an announcement made this evening at the conference soccer tournament, Southwestern's Raghav Sharma was named the 2024 SCAC Men’s Soccer Elite 19 award winner.

Sharma, a junior defender from Austin, Texas, currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.943 in Kinesiology with a Pre-Med minor and earned First Team All-SCAC honors this season.

Although the first SU men's soccer player to earn the SCAC Elite 19 award, Sharma's honor represents the 28th time a Southwestern student-athlete has won the Elite 19 honor - the highest number of recipients for any one conference school. Fellow Pirate Kayla Moody became the institution's 27th recipient earlier in the afternoon when she took home this year's women's Elite 19 trophy.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First or Second Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
