JOHNNA CAMPBELL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Katy, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 24th. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 8)
Campbell recorded two clean sheets for the Pirates last weekend, recording four saves against Dallas, including a spectacular leaping fingertips deflection to preserve the 0-0 draw. Campbell leads the SCAC in shutouts, is second in GAA (0.59) and fourth in saves (54).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper Audrey Rivera of Schreiner corralled 10 saves in a loss to Trinity last Friday night. Senior midfielder Camryn Beall of Trinity was solid last weekend for the Tigers limiting Schriener to just one shot and she also chipped in offensively with an assist in the 9-1 victory.
