Mitrofanova, a senior from Conroe, Texas, and Kesterson, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas, breezed through their top line doubles match against 19th-ranked Cal Tech, picking up the 8-1 victory over the Beavers' Anika Arora and Athena Kolli in the Pirates' 6-3 road team win on Sunday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Brooke Belitz and junior Ellie Hughes of Trinity finished off a doubles sweep for the 16th-ranked women's tennis team, which went on to defeat NCAA II Dallas Baptist 7-2 in the only action for the Tigers last week. Belitz and Hughes fought back to earn an 8-6 win at line three to complete the sweep. The Tiger duo are now 2-0 as a doubles team this spring. Junior Hanna Reyna and senior Victoria Morales of Schreiner posted a 2-1 week at No. 1 doubles, which included top-line victories over Mary Hardin-Baylor (8-1) and Howard Payne (8-2).
