Roy, a sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Ellis, a first-year Baton Rouge, La., posted an 8-5 victory at the No. 1 line over Trinity's Hao Ngueyn and Eric Liao in the 19th-ranked Pirates' 5-4 win against the 11th-ranked Tigers. The Southwestern duo picked up an 8-6 conference victory over Colorado College's Nate Beerman and Andrew Kaelin on Thursday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Alessio Azzalini and first-year Rafa Candelas Ruiz of Trinity went 2-0 at line two doubles last week for No. 11 Trinity men's tennis. The duo marked the only doubles point for the Tigers in the match against Southwestern, then jump-started the team with the first point scored in the win over UC-Santa Cruz. First-year Cashton Herrera and sophomore Austin Hudson of Texas Lutheran went 2-0 on the week earning wins over Colorado College (8-7) and Dallas (8-1) in SCAC play. Senior Carson Kirk and graduate student Austin Cervantes of Schreiner went 2-1 on the weekend, picking up victories at the No. 1 line over Dallas and Austin College.
