REAGAN FORTNER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defender from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, September 26th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 4)
Fortner anchored the Southwestern defense that secured a pair of shutouts last week as the Pirates earned a 0-0 tie against St. Thomas on Friday and defeated Centenary, 2-0, on Sunday in two non-conference conference fixtures. Fortner and the Pirates limited its opponents to less than 10 shots per game and allowed a total of just four shots on target in 200 minutes of action.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman goalkeeper Kameryn Roehrig of Schreiner corralled 12 saves in two starts including five in the Mountaineers 3-2 win over Arlington Baptist last week. Senior defender Pieter Blank of Trinity was apart of a back line that allowed just two goals in an impressive 6-2 victory over Colorado College on Friday night.
