The 16th-ranked Pirates improved to 15-4 and will face third-seeded Colorado College in tomorrow's semifinals. Texas Lutheran finishes the 2022 season with a 2-13 record. The match had been scheduled for 9 am in the morning, but a constant mist and overcast skies pushed the start time back to 3:15 pm local time.
Southwestern started the match up 3-0 as TLU fielded just four players and made quick work of the Bulldogs with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The team of Alli Ziehm and Emma Kesterson defeated Paula Acosta and Kaitlyn Enloe at No. 1 doubles and Lauren Chisholm and Taylor Despriet blanked Haley Koffman and Kayleigh Gardner to clinch the match.
It was the third time this season Southwestern has defeated Texas Lutheran, having swept a doubleheader from the Bulldogs by identical 9-0 scores back on April 8.
