Seven SCAC Men's Golfers Named GCAA All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released the NCAA Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars last week, and seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) individuals were selected as honorees.

Texas Lutheran placed three student-athletes on the list with seniors Cameron Carter, Chase Maus and Matthew McArthur each representing the Bulldogs. For Maus and McArthur, it was the third consecutive year they have been named to the exclusive team while Carter has earned the award in back-to-back seasons. 

Southwestern also placed three student-athletes on the team with senior Thomas Kuznar leading the way with his second career honor (2019-20). Junior Nicholas Hoisington and sophomore Logan Pullin also received All-America Scholar recognition.

Rounding out the SCAC contingent was Centenary junior Richard Polin, who picked up his first career All-America Scholar accolade. 

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

147 NCAA Division III athletes from 59 schools earned 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors.
