DEANNA HAMES OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from Murrieta, Calif., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14.
Hames led the team in goals and groundballs, totaling seven goals and picking up 11 groundballs. Hames also caused four turnovers and had two assists to total nine points in the Pirates' 20-12 victory over Piedmont (Ga.) on Friday.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior midfielder Bella Beattie of Colorado College matched her career high with three goals, but the Tigers dropped a 16-7 result to Division II Colorado Mesa University on Friday. Beattie, who was 2-for-2 on free-position shots, led the Tigers with total shots. She also recorded a ground ball and a draw control against the Mountaineers.
