Ellis, a junior from Baton Rouge, La., and Roy, a senior from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, have been a powerhouse duo all year and helped the Pirates beat Pacific (Ore.) on Tuesday with their 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, and pushed the Pirates to 5-0 in conference play after defeating St. Thomas, 6-2, on Friday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Adrian Munguia and first-year Vincent Risoldi of Concordia (Texas) were dominant in the duo's lone match of the week. The pairing took down Raja Pandya and Sawyer White of St. Thomas by a score of 6-1 to set the tone in a 5-2 victory over the Celts in conference action. Junior Aashish Dhanani and senior Eric Liao of Trinity led the 19th-ranked Tigers' men's tennis team to a 6-1 win over Kalamazoo (Mich.) College in its only match this week. The duo clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-0) win at line two, improving the team's record to 10-3 this season with their third straight victory.
