Roy went undefeated over the weekend in singles play as Southwestern picked up victories over Pacific (Ore.), 5-2, on Tuesday and St. Thomas, 6-1, on Friday. Playing on the top line, Roy defeated Joshua Dela Cruz of Pacific, 7-5, 6-3, and Steven Kuang of St. Thomas, 6-1, 6-3, to improve to 6-2 in dual match play this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Revel Wicks of Texas Lutheran went 2-0 this weekend from #1 and #2 singles against D2 Sul Ross State. First-year Vincent Risoldi of Concordia (Texas) showed no rust after the Tornados' two-week hiatus from action as he took down Sawyer White of St. Thomas at No. 4 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-2. Senior Eric Liao of Trinity won the clinching match for the 19th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team in its only contest last week, which was a 6-1 win over Kalamazoo College. Liao won his third straight singles match and improved his record to 7-2 this season. With this week's win at line four singles, he has now won three of his four matches at that position, taking a 6-3, 6-3 win this week.
