Chang, a junior from Taiwan, and Ellwanger, a junior from Magnolia, Texas, earned a tightly contested 7-6 victory over the top line team from University of the Ozarks, proving their ability to perform under pressure. They carried that momentum into the next day, securing a dominant 6-3 victory at the No. 1 line against the squad from Austin College - capping a 2-0 week in conference competition.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Ryan Rosalin and first-year Zachary Hanson of Ozarks teamed up for a pair of wins last week to remain undefeated on the year. Playing the No. 2 position, the duo posted a 6-3 win against Sterling College, and followed that with another 6-3 win against the second-line squad from Dallas. Rosalin and Hanson are now 5-0 on the season. Junior Aashish Dhanani and senior Eric Liao of Trinity led the 10th-ranked Tigers' men's tennis team to a 1-2 record against nationally-ranked teams at the Stag-Hen Invitational in California last weekend. The Tiger duo played line two doubles for all three matches, following an opening loss with two straight wins. After falling 6-3 in the team's 5-2 loss against 19th-ranked Johns Hopkins, Dhanani and Liao were the only doubles team with a win (7-5) in another 5-2 team loss to #29 Pomona-Pitzer. In the finale against #24 NC Wesleyan, Dhanani and Liao clinched the doubles point with their 6-4 win to help spark the team to a 7-0 win.
