TOBEY WILLS OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Richmond, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 26. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 6)
Wills made three birdies Tuesday en route to a two-over score of 74 to claim his second individual championship of the 2024 season at the Linda Lowery Invitational.
Wills, who finished the 36-hole tournament at a five-over score of 149 and tied with Parker Smith from the tournament's host Concordia (Texas) on the individual leaderboard, birdied the first playoff hole to secure the top spot and medalist honors. The win marks the fourth individual championship in Wills' career.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Ricky Mitchell of Southwestern was the best finisher on the Pirates squad, ending in a tie for fifteenth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate. He shot a three-round score of 220, firing even par 71, and 72 in his last two rounds. First-year Antonio Ramirez of St. Thomas fired a final round 74 to move 17 places up the leaderboard and finish tied for eighth at the Linda Lowery Invitational. Ramirez finished at 154 (+10) to pace the Celts.
