EMMA LUNA OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a first-year from League City, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 1. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 2)
Luna shot 76-75 to post a two-day score of 151, just one shot off individual medalist honors, as the St. Thomas women placed third at the DIII Lidlifter, played at The Clubs of Kingwood (Lakes) and hosted by UT-Dallas. Luna had four birdies during her second round.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Kimberly Burch of Dallas finished in seventh place alone after firing rounds of 81 and 78 (159) to finish +15 at the DIII Lidlifter. Burch was the low Crusader, helping her team to a fifth-place finish. Sophomore Sara Salido of Schreiner finished in a tie for fourth, shooting rounds of 85 and 81 (166, +22) at the Queen of the Hill Country tourney contested at the Riverhill Country Club.
