LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -
Austin College senior volleyball player Shelby Eaves has been selected as a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capitol One Academic All-District® recipient, the organization has announced. Eaves is one of only seven NCAA Division III players in District 8 to earn this honor, and one of only 53 Division III players in the nation.

Eaves
, an outside hitter and psychology major from Farmersville, is the only Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference player to have been named to the All-District team. A first team All-SCAC selection, boasts a 3.83 grade-point-average and is a Dean's List student in addition to being a SCAC Academic Honor Roll member. On the court, she is seventh in the nation in kills-per-set, and leads the conference in that category as well as total kills by a wide margin.

A former SCAC Newcomer of the Year, Eaves has been an All-Conference selection each of her four year at Austin College, including first team honors each of the past two seasons. She is currently second on the Austin College career kills list as the 'Roos prepare to begin the conference tournament on Friday morning.

As an Academic All-District honoree, Eaves is now eligible to be voted to the Academic All-America team.
