Trinity's Jorgens, Falcone, and White Named NSCAA Scholar All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Trinity University senior Jennifer White and juniors Kelsey Falcone and Emily Jorgens have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American All-Scholar All-American Team.

Jorgens earned First Team honors while Falcone took home Second Team and White was honored with Third Team.

All will be honored at the NSCAA's annual All-America Luncheon in Philadelphia on Jan. 18, 2014.

Jorgens, a midfielder from Austin, Texas, majors in Accounting and is carrying a perfect GPA of 4.00. She was named First Team All-American, All-Region, and All-SCAC and also earned the NCAA Soccer Elite 89. Jorgens won her second consecutive Player of the Year honors, and led the SCAC in scoring with 17 goals (seven game-winners) and a conference single-season record of 28 assists. In the playoffs, Jorgens has added a goal and twoassist including a key goal late in the game against Illinois Wesleyan to push the game into overtime where the Tigers eventually won in PKs. She finished the year tying the Division III single season record of 30. Jorgens is the holder of a SCAC-record 61 career assists. Her 141 career points ranks seventh on the conference all-time scoring list.

Falcone, a midfielder from San Antonio, Texas, is a double major in Biology and Communications and carries a 3.50 GPA. Falcone was selected as the 2013 SCAC Tournament Offensive MVP and earned All-SCAC, All-Region, and All-American honors. She scored a SCAC-leading 19 goals (four game-winners) on the season to go with 11 assists in leading the Tigers to their 18th SCAC Championship. In postseason play, Falcone has been absolutely terrific, scoring two goals and adding two assists to lead the Tigers offensively. Falcone has scored in 17 of the 26 matches played this season as the Tigers have outscored their opponents 122-10 in 2013. Falcone has scored 34 career goals to go with 27 career assists and 95 points.

White, a defender from Albuquerque, N.M., is majoring in International Studies in Spanish and is carrying a GPA of 3.98. White was the SCAC Defensive Player of the Year where she was a defensive stalwart for the Tigers. She also earned First Team All-SCAC as well as First Team All-Region. Especially adept at anticipating service to the feet, and cutting out possession, White was the leader of the SCAC's best defense which posted 16 shutouts, and allowed only six goals in 22 games. Included in the stat were only two goals in conference play. White also contributed to the offensive effort with two goals and seven assists. In postseason play, White wasn tremendous defensively, leading the Trinity defense to the National Championship Game.
