MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -
Texas Lutheran University freshman cornerback Chantz Singletary makes an appearance on the D3football.com Team of the Week after his performance in Saturday's 37-27 win over Louisiana College.

Singletary, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, set the TLU DIII-era record for pass breakups, with seven, and added a key interception that led to a touchdown late in the first half.

Singletary intercepted LC's Easton Melancon at the LC 42 with less than 30 seconds to play in the first half. Singletary returned the pick 36 yards to the LC 6. TLU scored a play later on a Trenton White pass to Cameron Peavy. Singletary also added five solo tackles.

Singletary also appeared Tuesday on USA College Football's Honorable Mention list for Defensive Player of the Week.

TLU (7-0) moved from No. 25 to No. 23 in Monday's release of the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll. With the win over LC, TLU extended its win streak to eight games (dating back to the final game of 2012).

The victory keeps TLU's hopes for an NCAA Division III playoff berth alive. The Bulldogs do not have an automatic berth to the DIII playoffs. TLU must keep winning to make the best possible case for an at-large bid.

TLU hits the road this week for Saturday's 1 p.m. kickoff against Hardin-Simmons (3-5) in Abilene, Texas. The Bulldogs meet the Cowboys at Shelton Stadium, located on the HSU campus.

TLU will have live video and live stats from tlubulldogs.com. Seguin radio station KWED 1580 AM will have the audio call on the air and an audio-only webcast on seguintoday.com. Jamie Overocker and TLU Football alum Keith Sullivan will have the call. Pre-game coverage begins at 12:30 p.m.
