LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA) announced the Capital One Academic All-District Men's Basketball Teams on Thursday and Texas Lutheran senior Troy Griffith was one of just eight players to earn a spot on the NCAA Division III District 8 All-Academic Team.

Griffith, a San Antonio native, is a mathematics major with a 4.00 grade-point average. He's the only District 8 member with a 4.0 GPA, as well as the only student-athlete from the SCAC to earn Academic All-District in either men's or women's basketball.

The senior is averaging 7.6 points per game and is second on the team with 5.8 rebounds per contest. He is shooting better than 50 percent from the field this year and a robust 80 percent from the free throw stripe.

Griffith is one of just eight student-athletes to earn a spot on the Division III District 8 Academic All-District squad. District 8 consists of 21 different states, as well as Canada.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. To see full release, click here.
