LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Centenary College senior guard Jonathan Blount and Colorado College senior guard Ryan Milne has been selected as SCAC Men's Basketball Co Players of the Week for their efforts this past weekend. 

 

 

 

 



SCAC CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Games of November 18th – November 24th

JONATHAN BLOUNT OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior guard from Shreveport, La., and RYAN MILNE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior guard from Phoenix, Ariz., have been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball Co-Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 18th through Sunday, November 24th.

Blount was terrific all weekend long, averaged 26.3 points during the Gents three games in five days to pace Centenary to a 2-1 record. 

Blount is 30 points away from breaking the 1,000-career-point plateau. 

He scored 28 points on 8-of-11 shooting including four threes in the win over LSU-Shreveport and followed that up with a 27 points performance (7-of-10 FG) against East Texas Baptist and a 24 point performance (9-of-14 FG) in the win over Louisiana College.

Blount ranked third on the team in rebounds with 12, including 11 on the defensive end. The senior shot 68.6-percent from the field, 66.7 from behind the arc and was 23-of-26 from the charity stripe.

Milne averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game while leading Colorado College to a pair of victories in the Quality Inn Oakwood Classic at Whitworth University last weekend. 

Milne scored six of his team-high 25 points in overtime to lift the Tigers to a 92-90 victory over the University of Puget Sound in the season opener on Friday night. He also dished out seven assists and grabbed seven rebounds. 

During Saturday's 65-60 victory over No. 12 Whitworth, Milne scored 18 points, four of which came on free throws during the final 16 seconds to seal the triumph. He also had four assists and three rebounds. 

Milne was named the classic's MVP and is currently shooting 6-13 from the three point line and 17-22 from the free throw line. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard/forward Jeremy Swisher of Austin College had a big weekend for Austin College, averaging 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 5-of-12 from three and 11-of-22 overall as the 'Roos went 1-1. Senior forwardcenter Ross Davidson of Dallas averaged 16 points and nine rebounds this past weekend to lead the University of Dallas to a 2-0 weekend at the Dallas Classic. Senior guard AJ Myres of Schreiner helped lead the Mountaineers to a 1-1 week with 18 point/gm, five rebounds and four assists. He had 19 points, five rebounds and two assists in the victory over Hardin-Simmons. Junior guard Blake Scott of Southwestern averaged 14.3 points per game while the Pirates went 2-0 this week. His 43 points led SU as he shot 60% from the floor (18-30) in 20 minutes per game. Sophomore guard Robert Watson, Jr. of Texas Lutheran averaged a team-high 19 points per game on almost 58 percent shooting from the field over the three games last week and also notched 4.3 rebounds, three assists and 1.7 steals per game. Senior post Jonathan Wilt of Trinity averaged 12.5 points/game and 7.0 points/game for the weekend, hitting 42.1% (8-19) from the field and 90% (9-10) from the foul line for the two games.
