MATT McCLUNG OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Katy, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Golfer-of-the-Week for all tournaments through Tuesday, April 8th.

McClung led the 22nd-ranked Schreiner University men's golf team to a second place finish at the West Region Invitational in Georgetown.

McClung shot rounds of 72-73-76 to tie UT-Tyler's Buddy Hallman for individual honors for the first time in his career. He led the field after the second round and shot the second lowest score in the final round.

McClung is the third Mountaineer golfer to win an individual title this year, joining junior Jimmy Keener who won at the John Bohmann Memorial in September and junior Cheyne Kendall who won at the Schreiner Spring Shootout last month.  The Mountaineers have had two wins and two second place finishes in four spring tournaments.
