Colorado College 14th in latest AVCA Division III Top 25 poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Colorado College moved to No. 14 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 poll for week one while Southwestern University and Trinity University are just two and three spots outside the Top 25 poll, respectively.

Colorado captured the 2013 Molten Volleyball CC Classic by winning all four matches in straight sets. The Tigers have now swept seven of eight opponents this season and it marks the second time in three seasons Colorado College has opened a season with an 8-0 record.

In Friday's first match, the Tigers held Lakeland College to a negative hitting percentage (.090) for the second time this season. Colorado College earned a berth in the championship match with a 3-0 triumph against the Willamette. The Tigers won their second straight tournament with a second sweep of the Bearcats.

The Colorado College Tigers go on the road for the first time this season for the 2013 Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) Tournament at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Colorado College will play matches against St. Olaf College and Knox College on Saturday, as well as Beloit College and Lawrence University on Sunday.
