Southwestern's Bevins, TLU's Kirkpatrick, Trinity's White Named SCAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity's Jennifer White, Southwestern's Sarah Bevins, and Texas Lutheran's Sioned Kirkpatrick have earned SCAC Players of the Week after outstanding performances leading to their team's success. 

 

 





SCAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Games of October 14th – October 20th

SARAH BEVINS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman forward/midfielder from Austin, Texas and SIONED KIRKPATRICK OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 14th through Sunday, October 20th. 

Bevins scored four goals in two games, including three against Centenary in the second half, as Southwestern went 2-0 this weekend to move to 7-2 in the conference, second only behind Trinity. 

Bevins took ten shots, seven on goal, for a .700 shots on goal percentage and had a .400 shot percentage. 

Kirkpatrick played a huge role in leading the Bulldogs to a 2-0 weekend and extending their unbeaten streak to four games. The sophomore forward continued her strong run of form scoring four goals on the weekend, bringing her SCAC-leading goal total to 17. 

She scored twice in both games, recording eight shots and four shots on goal. Kirkpatrick has now scored at least two goals six times this season

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior forward Lauren Scott of Austin College tallied the lone goal against Southwestern on Friday afternoon in a hard fought defeat. Freshman forward Mary Alexander of Dallas scored the game-winning goal in a win over Schreiner. Junior midfielder Kelsey Falcone of Trinity scored a goal in each of the three games, and has now scored in five consecutive contests for the Tigers. Centenary and Schreiner did not nominate anyone.

 

SCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Games of October 14th – October 20th

JENNIFER WHITE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Albuquerque, NM, has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 14th through Sunday, October 20th. 

White led the Tiger defense to three shutouts this past week, including two road wins in SCAC play over the weekend, and a 4-0 victory over NAIA's 21st-ranked Our Lady of the Lake on Monday.

White finished the week with three assists, scoring all three points against SCAC opponents over the weekend.  She had one assist in Friday's shutout of Centenary, then grabbed a pair of helpers against Austin on Sunday.  

The Tiger defense, led by White, allowed just six total shots over the past week, and just one of those was on goal.  Against SCAC opponents, White paced a defense that allowed just two total shots – none of which were on goal. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore defender Abigale Weisbrod of Dallas assisted on the game-winning goal in a shutout victory over Schreiner. Senior goalkeeper Lizeth De La Torre of Schreiner had seven saves and gave up one goal against University of Dallas. Freshman defender Audrey Silver of Southwestern started both matches for the Pirates and scored the first goal for the Pirates on Sunday against Centenary. Austin College, Centenary and Texas Lutheran did not nominate anyone.
