Colorado College's Lesnansky Earns SCAC Player of the Week Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Colorado College's junior forward Chris Lesnansky has been named SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding efforts this past week.

 



 

 

 

SCAC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Games of February 10th – February 16th

CHRIS LESNANSKY OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior forward from Denver, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 10th  through Sunday, February 16th.

Lesnansky averaged 22.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game to help Colorado College win a pair of road games last week. 

Lesnansky made 15 of 29 (.517) field-goal attempts and 15 of 17 free throws. 
In Friday’s 69-60 victory at Austin, he posted a game-high 22 points and grabbed five rebounds. During the 77-70 triumph at Centenary the following night, Lesnansky finished with a game-high 23 points and had three rebounds despite playing the final 10:42 with four fouls, keeping the Tigers alive for a No. 2 seed at the SCAC Tournament.

He surpassed the 20-point mark for the ninth time this season. With 55 points last week, Lesnansky climbed four spots to No. 16 on CC’s all-time scoring list with 1,060 points.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman guard Brian Baehl of Austin College averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 47.6% from the field and 50% from three point range as the ‘Roos split. Senior guard Jonathan Blount of Centenary averaged 25 points this weekend to keep the Gents in the hunt for the overall top seed. The Shreveport, La., native shot 60 percent from field including a clip of 30 percent from behind the arc and was 85 percent from the charity stripe.  Senior guard Nate Wilson of Dallas scored 18.5 points/game and added 6.5 rebounds/game as the Crusaders went 0-2 over the weekend. Senior guard AJ Myres of Schreiner had 20 ppg, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on the weekend, including 21 points vs. Southwestern and 19 in a comer-from-behind victory over Trinity. Senior guard Micahel Cantu of Southwestern averaged 14 points per game, shooting 46% from the floor (6-13) and 88% from the free throw line (16-18). Junior guard Garrett Wilkins of Texas Lutheran was the only Bulldog to average double-figure scoring over the weekend, scoring 17 points per game in two tough home losses to Trinity and Southwestern. Senior guard Robert Kitzinger of Trinity averaged 18.5 points/game and 6.0 rebounds/game for the two road contests, hitting 61.9% (13-21) from the field and 60% (6-10) from three-point range. He also added six total assists for the two games.
