Sophomore guard Justin Berardino tied his career high with 19 points, but the Tigers could not overcome Chris Lesnansky’s foul trouble and the Mountaineer’s torrid three-point shooting. CC’s second-leading scorer, who came into the night averaging 18.6 points per game, was called for three fouls in the first half and played only 22 minutes. The Tigers trailed 50-48 after freshman forward Mitch Carter knocked down a short jumper for two of his 13 points with 5:44 to play. However, that was as close as his team would get. Sophomore forward James Lonergan scored 10 of his season-high 17 points during a pivotal 14-2 surge late in the second half to lift Colorado College at TLU. Lonergan’s jumper with 6:24 remaining tied the game at 79-79, then Carter put the Tigers ahead for good on layup 27 seconds later. Another late run was the difference as the Tigers were able to pull away late to take the 97-85 win. THe Bulldogs as a team shot a season-high 55 percent from the field.

Trinity scored a pair of home wins in SCAC play over the weekend, remaining in a tie for second place in the conference standings with a 4-1 mark.  The Tigers defeated both Centenary 82-61 to start things off on Friday night, then took a narrow 72-67 win over Austin College on Saturday.
