Southwestern 19th; Schreiner 25th in Golf World/Nike Men's Golf Coaches’ Poll

NORMAN, Okla. - In the first Golf World/Nike Golf Men's Division III coaches' spring poll, Southwestern University is ranked 19th while Schreiner University is 25th.

Southwestern's ranking remained unchanged from the last poll of the fall season while Schreiner slipped three positions from 22nd to 25th.

Wittenberg, ranked No. 1 for a portion of the fall semester, returned to the top spot in the first spring edition of the Golf World/Nike Golf Men's Division III college coaches' poll.

In the team's initial spring outing, Andrew DeHennis, James Grachos, Michael Gebhardt and Connor Murphy represented Southwestern last Monday and Tuesday at the Inaugural Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia University at Falconhead Golf Club, but the Pirates did not field a full team to earn team scores.

At that same event, junior Zach Oliver battled a stomach virus and still had the low round for Schreiner in leading the Mountaineers to a runner-up finish. Oliver shot 76 and his 147 total placed him second individually as well.

The Mountaineers, who shot a two-day team score of 615, trailed only the tournament hosts, 19th-ranked Concordia-TX, who tallied 609 over two rounds.
