Colorado College Men Named to Scholar All-America Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Colorado College swimming and diving teams demonstrated their commitment to academic excellence by ranking sixth nationally among those earning Team Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the 2014 spring semester.
 
Kaleb Roush, awho graduated in May with a 3.99 grade point in biochemistry with a minor in mathematics, helped the men place sixth in Division III and first in the state with a 3.48 GPA. He was named the SCAC Man of the Year.

Austin Howlett, who was named an All-American in the 3-meter dive, was named to the Scholar All-America First Team. Additionally, Colin Chupnik of Colorado College and Nikita Chirkov of Trinity were named to the Scholar All-American Honorable Mention Team.

Colorado College is one of three Division III schools and one of only five overall in all three NCAA divisions to have both its men's and women's team earn a spot in the top six on their respective lists.
 
The award is presented twice annually to intercollegiate swimming and diving squads that achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
 
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
