Dallas' Wyatt Earns Men's Basketball Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - University of Dallas junior forward Aaron Wyatt has been selected as SCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his efforts this past weekend. 

 

 

 

 

 



SCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Games of November 11th – November 17th

AARON WYATT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior forward from Frisco, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 11th through Sunday, November 17th.

Wyatt was a huge factor both offensively and defensively as he led the Crusaders to a 1-1 opening weekend at the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament in the Nation's Capital.

In the first game against Lebanon Valley, Wyatt scored 11 points on 2-for-4 shooting including 7-for-7 from the free throw line and added 14 rebounds for his first double-double of the year in a 71-69 victory. He also added two blocks and two steals. 

The following night against Marymount, Wyatt led the way with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting to go with nine rebounds, two assist, and a steal.

For his efforts, Wyatt was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament.

Wyatt finished the weekend averaging 14.5 points a game and 12.5 rebounds per game while pulling down 10 total offensive rebounds. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Ransom Okpala of Austin College hit 7-of-14 shots, including 5-of-11 from three point range on his way to 19 points and also had nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 12 point win over Howard Payne to open the season. Junior guard Stevan Guerrero of Schreiner led the Mountaineers in scoring for the week with 43 points (21.5 points/gm) including a 22 point and six rebound game against Pacific Lutheran. Senior guard Chase Kocher of Southwestern led the Pirates with 16 points on 7-9 shooting form the field and 2-3 from the free throw line in 31 minutes of action and also added two rebounds and one assist. Senior guard Robert Kitzinger of Trinity averaged 14.0 points/game for the Tigers, connecting on six three-pointers and going 12-14 (85.7%) from the foul line over the three games. Centenary, Colorado College, and Texas Lutheran were idle this weekend.
