LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Austin College senior volleyball
player Shelby Eaves has been selected as a College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Capitol One Academic
All-District® recipient, the organization has
announced. Eaves is one of only seven NCAA Division III players in
District 8 to earn this honor, and one of only 53 Division III
players in the nation.
Eaves, an outside hitter and psychology major from
Farmersville, is the only Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference player to have been named to the All-District team.
A first team All-SCAC selection, boasts a 3.83 grade-point-average
and is a Dean's List student in addition to being a SCAC Academic
Honor Roll member. On the court, she is seventh in the nation in
kills-per-set, and leads the conference in that category as well as
total kills by a wide margin.
A former SCAC Newcomer of the Year, Eaves has
been an All-Conference selection each of her four year at Austin
College, including first team honors each of the past two seasons.
She is currently second on the Austin College career kills list as
the 'Roos prepare to begin the conference tournament on Friday
morning.
As an Academic All-District honoree, Eaves is now
eligible to be voted to the Academic All-America team.
