TLU's Vega Earns SCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Sophomore Sofia Vega of Texas Lutheran University has been named SCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her outstanding performance this past week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Matches through Sunday, March 23rd

SOFIA VEGA OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Corpus Christi, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Tennis Player-of-the-Week for all matches through Sunday, March 23rd.

Vega, who is currently the ITA's highest-ranked women's player in the West Region, won all four of her singles matches and three of her four doubles matches with Caitlin Zarr in completed TLU team matches last week.

Vega won 6-0, 6-0 against Centenary, 6-0, 6-1 against LeTourneau, 6-0, 6-0 against East Texas Baptist, and 7-6 (2), 6-1 against Cal Tech all coming in No. 1 singles.

Vega and Zarr won 8-1, 8-2 and 8-3 in No. 1 doubles play before dropping an 8-6 decision to Cal Tech. Vega, an ITA and NCAA All-American, is undefeated in singles play this spring season.
