LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - For the third time this season, senior guard Ryan Milne has earned SCAC Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts on the court during the holidays. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Games of December 16th – January 5th

RYAN MILNE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior guard from Phoenix, Ariz., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 16th through Sunday, January 5th.

Milne averaged 28.5 points, 5.33 rebounds and 4.67 assists while leading Colorado College to a 2-1 record on the road. He made 29 of 55 (.527) shots from the floor, including a 12-of-28 (.429) performance from 3-point range, and sank 15 of 18 free throws (.833). 

Milne scored 21 points grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists to help CC overcome a 14-point deficit during an 82-75 victory in double overtime at Lehman College. 

Two days later, he poured in a career-high 38 points, but the Tigers dropped a 93-90 decision in overtime at Babson College. Milne also dished out four assists to take over sole possession of second place on the program’s all-time chart with 379. 

Milne posted a game-high 26 points and had six assists as Colorado College opened conference play with a 78-66 victory at Dallas. 

Milne, who surpassed the 20-point mark for the fourth game in a row and the sixth time this season, became the ninth Tiger to score 1,300 or more career points. He tied his season high with five 3-point buckets and climbed into sixth place on the program’s all-time list with 181.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Ransom Okpala of Austin College had a big four game stretch as the ‘Roos went 2-2, averaging 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 51.6% from the field and 41.2% from three point range. Senior guard Jonathan Blount of Centenary averaged 21.8 points during the last four games to lead the Gents. The senior connected on 39 percent of his shots from the floor and led the squad with a 41.7 percent from behind the arc and 80 percent from the charity stripe. Senior forward/center Ross Davidson of Dallas scored 13, 24, and 12 while pulling down 6.3 rebounds for the Crusaders this past month. Senior guard AJ Myres of Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a 3-1 record over break with 21 ppg, 4.8 rpg as well as eight assists and two steals. He had 27 points, three rebounds and three assists in the SCAC opener against TLU. Senior guard Michael Cantu of Southwestern averaged 16.5 points per game over the break, shooting 60% (21-35) from the floor and 41% from three point range (5-12). He was also second on the team in rebounds, averaging 4.3 points per game. Sophomore forward Robert Watson, Jr. of Texas Lutheran averaged 12.0 points per game while also leading the squad with 6.8 rebounds per contest. The sophomore shot 44.2 percent from the field and made 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard Jimmy Clark of Trinity averaged 6.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the weekend, leading the teams in rebounding.  He hit 4-8 field goals and 3-6 free throws for the two games, highlighted by his 10 points and nine rebounds in the narrow loss to Pomona-Pitzer.
