ZACHARY HERMAN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 28 through Sunday, April 3. (SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 5)
Herman had a career weekend at the David Noble Relays last weekend, with a personal best 15.90m throw in the shot put to finish seventh among athletes across all divisions. The mark was strong enough to land Herman on the D3 National List and is currently tied for third in all of Division III with teammate Scottie Reyes. Herman also finished eighth in the hammer with a toss of 48.36m, currently the top toss in the SCAC this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Bryce McIntyre of St. Thomas was the top Div. III finisher and seventh overall last weekend at the University of Houston Alumni Invite in the long jump. McIntyre posted a leap of 6.84m. Junior Cooper Tyler of Trinity recorded a personal best in the javelin with a toss of 49.74 to finish eighth at the David Noble Relays. Tyler’s toss is currently the second best in the SCAC this season.
