Alyssa Simien, Texas Lutheran University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 2)

ALYSSA SIMIEN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior midfielder from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, September 5th through Sunday, September 10th. It is the second consecutive week she has earned POTW honors. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 2)

Simien continued her hot start with five points thanks to two goals and one assist on the Bulldogs west coast road trip as TLU stayed undefeated going 1-0-1 on the weekend. On Friday, Simien buried the game-winning goal against Caltech in a come from behind 2-1 victory and then followed that performance up with a goal and an assist in a 2-2 tie against Chapman. Simien currently leads the SCAC with four goals and nine points on the season.  

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Emily Hayes of Trinity notched the game-winning goal for the ninth-ranked Tiger women's soccer team's 1-0 victory against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Sunday afternoon.
