Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year pitcher Amanda Pollock of Schreiner made three appearances last week for the Mountaineers, including one start. In 7.2 innings, Pollock struck out two batters and allowed just 11 hits. First-year pitcher Allison Hughes of St. Thomas dazzled in the circle last week for the Celts, posting a 2-0 record in wins over non-conference foes Texas A&M San-Antonio and Eureka. Hughes struck out 11 batters in 12 innings of work, allowing just seven hits and three earned runs to post a weekly ERA of 1.75. Senior right-handed pitcher Emery Boettcher of Trinity was the hard-luck losing pitcher in the second game of the Tigers’ doubleheader against No. 25 Piedmont over the weekend, allowing just two runs on five hits over 5.2 innings.
