SCOTTIE REYES OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Dilley, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, March 22 through Sunday, March 28.
Reyes threw a personal best in the shot put with a heave of 15.65m (51-4.25) to win the event at the D3 Challenge and rank him seventh in Division III. His previous best was 48-6 3/4. Reyes also won the discus with a toss of 42.86m (140-7) and was third in the hammer with a throw of 45.08m (147-11).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Jacob Winchester of Trinity took home two new personal bests in the javelin and discus throw at the TLU D3 Challenge. His marks of 47.5m (javelin) and 38.24m (discus) were good for third and fourth, respectively, at the meet.
