WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs won their second consecutive elimination game at the NCAA Division III Whitewater, Wis. Regional, defeating Luther College (Iowa) 5-2 on Saturday night.
TLU (30-13) will face either regional host University of Wisconsin-Whitewater or top seed Adrian (Mich.) at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. UW-Whitewater and Adrian face off at 10 a.m. Sunday.
If Adrian defeats UW-Whitewater and avoids elimination, TLU and Adrian play at 1:30 p.m. If UW-Whitewater defeats Adrian, Adrian is eliminated, and TLU faces UW-Whitewater in the regional championship round.
UW-Whitewater is the only unbeaten team remaining in the regional. Adrian and TLU each have one loss.
Against Luther, TLU starter Landon Weatherly gave up two runs in the first inning but settled down to pitch seven quality innings. He allowed three hits in the first inning but only two hits over the next six innings.
Weatherly struck out eight, walked two, and allowed two earned runs. He threw 106 pitches.
Zach Perry worked a scoreless 1-1/3 innings before handing the ball to closer Blade Strzelczyk, who needed just one pitch to induce a game-ending 6-4-3 double play.

Weatherly improved to 5-3 on the year. Strzelczyk notched his fourth save.
Caleb Maly delivered three hits for the Bulldogs, and he scored a pair of runs and drove in a run. He was on base four times.
Austin Colon and Tyler Cauley each had two hits and an RBI. Collin Docker also recorded an RBI.
