ASHLYN STROTHER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior right-hander from Seabrook, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 3 through Sunday, April 9. SCAC Softball Release - Week 9
Strother improved to a perfect 13-0 on the season after a 2-0 week with a pair of SCAC wins over Southwestern. She tossed a pair of complete games. Including a shutout victory on Saturday against the Pirates. In 13.0 innings of work, Strother allowed just nine hits and one earned run, while posting 17 strikeouts. Strother, who currently leads the SCAC with 83 strikeouts, is now seventh all-time in league history with 429. With the two wins, Strother became TLU's all-time wins leader.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Anna Scarbrock of Centenary tossed her team leading seventh complete game in a 4-0 shutout victory over Dallas last Friday. Scarbrock needed just 55 pitches, scattering two hits without allowing a run and striking out one in the win. First year pitcher Trysten Liesman of Schreiner posted a 2-0 record in the circle last week for the Mountaineers. Liesman in 5.2 innings of work scattered six hits, struck out four batters and posted a 0.00 ERA.
