JOE BURCH OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior right-handed pitcher from Geronimo, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 29 through Sunday, April 4.
Burch tossed a four-hit shutout against the University of St. Thomas in the second game of the three-game conference series - a 10-0 victory for the Bulldogs. Burch struck out eight and walked two to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Senior right-hander Preston Ludwick of Centenary picked up his team and conference-leading sixth win of the season in the Gents' 5-1 victory over Dallas on Friday. He pitched seven solid innings and allowed just one earned run and one hit with eight strikeouts. Ludwick is a perfect 6-0 on the season with a sparkling 1.98 ERA (lowest in the SCAC) and has one complete-game shutout. He has allowed just 22 hits and nine earned runs in 41 innings pitched with 44 K's. Junior right-hander Benjamin Ludwig of Southwestern pitched a complete, nine-inning game for Southwestern, striking out 10 with no walks in a 7-3 win over Schreiner on Saturday. Ludwig set the tone early, retiring the first six Schreiner hitters in order, then close strong, retiring the final six hitters in order. First-year right-hander Ethan Clark of Trinity got the #1 Trinity baseball team's home series with Austin College on the right foot with a standout relief performance in the opening game. Clark came on to pick up a four-inning save and a combined shutout. He struck out four batters and allowed just one walk during his outing, and he didn't allow a hit among 13 batters faced.
