Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Alexis Roach of Centenary picked up the win in the circle as the Ladies defeated Texas Lutheran, handing the Bulldogs their first loss in SCAC play since 2019. Roach went the distance, scattering seven hits over seven innings, striking out three Bulldogs. Sophomore pitcher Kaedyn Filburn of Schreiner made a pair of appearances last weekend in the circle for the Mountaineers in their series against Trinity. In 7.2 innings of work, Filburn allowed four earned runs, scattering 12 hits and striking out two batters. Sophomore pitcher Madison Vela of Southwestern tossed a no-hitter in the Pirates, 7-0, win over Dallas last weekend. Vela struck out three Crusaders and walked five without allowing a single hit or run. Graduate pitcher Bailey Tisdale of St. Thomas picked up a pair of wins in the circle last weekend for the Celts in an SCAC series sweep over Austin College. In total, Tisdale scattered seven hits in 10 innings of work, striking out three batters and didn’t allow a single run. Freshman pitcher Jordan Arce of Trinity led the Tigers to a 2-1 record over the past week, winning the SCAC weekend series on the road against Schreiner. Arce pitched in all three games over the weekend, with her relief appearance in the second game of the series resulting in her first collegiate victory. Arce pitched 3.2 shutout innings during which she allowed just one hit and recorded three strikeouts.
